Your West Innovation Fund recipients for July 2024!

We are thrilled to announce the recipients of The Trust's first-ever Innovation Fund funding round. This initiative aims to support and nurture innovative projects that contribute to community wellbeing and primary education. After careful consideration, we have selected the following organisations and projects to receive funding:

Combined Waitakere and Portage Licensing Trust Recipients

We are delighted to highlight the recipients who have been awarded funding to support both community wellbeing and education from both Waitākere and Portage Licensing Trusts. Belong Aotearoa has received $81,420 for their Safari Wrap-around Service. This is a project to support community connections through play sessions for children alongside information workshops for parents of non-English speaking former refugee and migrant families.

Te Hononga COMET has been granted $51,412 for their educational initiative, Whakarongo ki te Reo Mātātahi - The Writers Project. This initiative facilitates creative writing workshops to allow students to express themselves and bring awareness to the issues that matter to them.

Additionally, the Fair Food Trust has been awarded $21,320 for their project, Building Wairua for employment, which focuses on fostering employment skills. These projects exemplify our commitment to funding initiatives that bring tangible benefits to both educational and community sectors.
